Episode 244: Keepers

Terrastina has insomnia. She lies awake, staring up at the dark ceiling while Mazolli sleeps beside her, then rises from bed and goes downstairs and begins moving furniture around. The noise wakes the twins who come down. They are bleary eyed but ready for an adventure. Terrastina gives them tasks like moving lamps and knickknacks. They are so happy to have these very important jobs. Terrastina thinks about preparing a snack for them as she pivots the coffee table to angle away from the battered sculpture of a great blue heron she made out of scrap steel years ago.
