Episode 308: Building Material

Mazolli breaks a lace as he sits on the front step tying his shoes. He tosses the useless end onto the lawn, then rethreads the remaining piece through the eyelets. He has a tough time tying up the short ends, but decides they will hold until he can buy some new laces. A crow lands on the grass next to the discarded end. It stares at Mazolli, then bends down and snatches up the frayed lace in its beak and flies across the street, over the church roof, into a tall oak waiting, patiently, a couple of lots away.
