The twins clomp around the house in pairs of Mazolli’s shoes. They pause often to take deep breaths and remark on how difficult it is to walk in someone else’s shoes. Terrastina tells them that sounds like a famous saying. The twins look at her. What’s a famous saying? they ask. It’s when someone writes something down, says Terrastina, and enough people read it, remember it, and say it out loud that everyone knows it. We’ve got more sayings, say the twins.
