Mazolli turns the lock on the front door of The Brew just before a man appears at the window. Please, he says, just one cup. That’s all I need. Then I’ll go. Sorry, says Mazolli, it’s been a long day. The man puts his palms together and drops to his knees. Please, he says, please please please. Mazolli laughs, then unlocks the door and lets the man in. You must really love your coffee, says Mazolli as he pours a cup. It’s a bad habit, says the man, but without it I don’t think I would want to live.
