Episode 319: Acceptance

Terrastina gets the small jar of pickled hot peppers from the fridge. She sits at the kitchen table and begins eating them. That looks good, says Mazolli, is there enough for me? Terrastina tilts the jar toward him. Mazolli gets a fork and snags a pepper for himself. Terrastina eats another. Her lips pucker and her eyes water. Mazolli takes seconds. His nose starts running. There aren’t enough here, he says. I know, says Terrastina, but we’ll have to live with what we’ve got. Mazolli nods. He sees the last pepper in the jar and offers it to Terrastina.
