The twins find four of Terrastina’s divining rods. They hold them out on extended arms as they walk around the house, sliding their stockinged feet across the floor in ultra slow motion. That’s an interesting technique, says Terrastina. Where did you learn to do that? Mom, say the twins, we need total quiet or the vibes will get all scrambled. Terrastina holds up her hands and backs away from the twins with exaggerated toe-heel steps. The twins try to keep from laughing but break into grins and giggles.
