Episode 360: Opportunist

Terrastina buys a box of chocolates and some trashy paperbacks, then drives to the hospital where her friend is recovering from hip replacement surgery. She finds the room empty. She’s in rehab, a nurse tells Terrastina, learning to use her new joints. Didn’t they just put them in two days ago? Terrastina asks. The nurse shrugs. No point in delaying. You can wait here if you like. She’ll be back soon. Okay, says Terrastina. She sits down. The nurse eyes the box of chocolates Terrastina carries. She licks her lips. You got any cream filled in there? she asks.
