Episode 34: World Traveler

Mazolli finds a fine white powder covering the car in the morning. He lifts some of the grains from the windshield and rolls them between his fingertips. They are grittier than dust, not as sharp as glass. He looks up to the sky in an almost instinctual gesture, but sees nothing out of the ordinary. At The Brew, later that day, a customer tells him a volcano in China erupted last week and is spewing steam and ash into the atmosphere. Mazolli remembers the ash on the car. He asks the customer if he knows how to speak Chinese.
