Mazolli sees four death notices pinned up on the post office bulletin board. He scans the names quickly to see if he knows any of them. He doesn’t. Back at The Brew he puts the day’s mail on the counter. It’s depressing going to the post office, he says to Terrastina. You mean all those sad little obituaries? she says. How do they go? Come celebrate the life of fill in the blank. She shudders. The worst part, says Mazolli, is they’re right beside the wanted posters. Pictures of people who’ve killed next to names of people who’ve died.
