Episode 79: Performance Art

Terrastina spends all weekend at the glassworks. On Sunday night she brings home her project, places it on the coffee table, and covers it with a white towel. She brings Mazolli and the twins into the room. Ta da, she says, flicking away the towel to reveal a sinuous lump of glass stretched into the shape of a cat. The whiskers are porcupine quills. The eyes are lumps of petrified wood. The twins run their hands over the smooth back. Wow, says Mazolli. Enjoy it now, says Terrastina. In exactly one hundred hours we’re going to smash it to pieces.
