Episode 193: Beggars Shouldn’t Be Choosers

A stray cat comes to the house and scratches at the front door. Mazolli gets some baked tofu from the fridge, puts it on a small plate, and places the plate next to the cat. He watches the cat sniff the tofu, take it up in its mouth, then drop it. The cat paws at the tofu a couple of times, then looks up at Mazolli and meows. Sorry kid, says Mazolli, you come to this house, that’s what you get. The cat meows again. Mazolli shrugs. What can I tell you, he says, you gets what you gets.
