Episode 130: Show Me

A week of steady rains has everyone antsy to get outside. On the first dry day Terrastina takes the twins to a trail in the woods. Mushrooms grow everywhere. Large purple caps, meaty orange blobs, tiny cones on delicate stems, wide brown pancake thin lobes, startling white globes pushing through the dirt, and a cluster of yellow domes clinging like a tiny village to the side of a fallen tree. This fairyland is our reward for all that rain, says Terrastina. The twins stop at some red mushrooms rimmed with white bands. We don’t see any fairies, they say.
