Episode 63: The Straw Hat

The temperature hits one hundred and three degrees. Terrastina sets up the water sprinkler in the backyard and the twins run through the spray, laughing. They pull on Mazolli’s arms, wanting him to join them. Mazolli resists for a moment, then runs through the water with them. Hey Terr, he says, come on. It’s lots of fun. Terrastina points to the straw hat on her head. I don’t want to get it wet, she says. Mazolli picks up the sprinkler and aims it at Terrastina. She jumps back. The hat flies off her head and rolls across the lawn.
