Episode 37: They’ll Take My Pepper Spray from My Cold Dead Fingers

Night creatures get into Terrastina’s garden and eat many of her vegetables. I don’t mind sharing, she tells Mazolli, but whatever has been rooting in here has way too big an appetite. What are you going to do? asks Mazolli. Terrastina buys a package of hot peppers and throws them all into a pot on the stove with water. She boils the peppers until the water turns red. After the water cools, she pours it into a spray bottle and mists the entire perimeter of her garden. Most animals can’t stand hot peppers, she says. Now they’ll stay away.
