Episode 36: Redecorating

Terrastina goes to the optometrist and returns with a pair of bifocals. I don’t understand it, she says to Mazolli. I live a healthy life, how can I need bifocals? Everyone’s eyes deteriorate, says Mazolli, that’s one of those sure things in life, like death and taxes. Terrastina finds no comfort in these words. She walks around the house gingerly, gritting her teeth to quell the nausea. They said this dizziness will go away in a few days, she says, but I like my old blurry vision better. There’s a comfort, you know, in filling the world with pillows.
