Episode 248: Tribal Ways

The twins crawl up on the kitchen counter by pulling drawers out halfway and using them as steps. They sit between the dish drying rack and the toaster oven, looking around at the world from a whole new perspective. Terrastina comes into the kitchen. What’s this? she says. We got tired of the floor, say the twins. Really? asks Terrastina. I never get tired of the floor. It’s always there, exactly where I need it. I get happy feet when I walk on the floor. The twins nod. That’s okay for you, they say, but we need something else.
