The county road crew arrives with its equipment and begins cutting branches from the trees lining the street in front of Terrastina and Mazolli’s house. Mazolli stands on the front steps watching them. What’s all this about? he says. The trees are getting tangled up with the power lines, says Terrastina above the sound of chainsaws and wood chippers.
