Episode 179: Optimizing the Process

Mazolli meets the twins at school and begins walking home with them. They stop at a corner to watch crows strutting the pavement. One of the crows takes a walnut in its beak, flies up to tree top level, and drops it on the road. It repeats this until the walnut cracks open. Then it digs the flesh out of the two halves. Other crows do the same thing. Wow, says Mazolli, they must really like walnuts. If they just waited, say the twins, a car would run over the walnuts and they could eat up all they wanted.
