Episode 165: Maybe Being Deaf Feels a Little Like This

Mazolli looks around the house. The windows are getting kind of dirty, he says. I think I’ll go outside and wash them. That’s admirable, says Terrastina. Mazolli gathers his materials: bucket, ladder, squeegee, vinegar and water, and begins work. His technique is smooth and quick. He soon develops a rhythm with the squeegee, like dancing with a partner. Terrastina and the twins wave to him from inside the house. He waves back. They make faces at him. He makes faces back. The twins collapse on the floor laughing. Mazolli sees them through the window but cannot hear a thing.
