Episode 22: A Theory of Humor

Terrastina and Mazolli drive across the toll bridge over the river. Mazolli hands the woman in the booth a one dollar bill. Is it paid for yet? he asks. The woman smiles as she gives Mazolli twenty five cents in change. Like she hasn’t heard that one before, says Terrastina as they drive away. I know, says Mazolli, but sometimes the old jokes are the best ones. Sometimes, says Terrastina, jokes benefit from an early retirement. Maybe a move to Arizona or Hawaii to lie in the good sun all day. Soak up those rays in peace. And quiet.
